Writing. Internet cafes. Random.

Drove the sprogs to school this morning. They love it when I do that. GirlyGirl was taking the Yamaha guitar for music class and didn't want to carry it on the bus, so this was just easier. Stayed and chatted with her teachers for a bit.

Am currently at the Waves Coffee shop in Burnaby. I've been driving past it for ages and I kept meaning to stop and check it out - I decided today was the day. It's not bad. I'll come back. I left a review. On a side note, I love Wikis. I love living in the information age. I love laptops and wireless and instantaneous worldwide communication OMG!

*cough*

Sorry. I just had a flashback to being in the middle of Saskatchewan where the only access I had to teh interwebs was the local public library that was only open for 5 hours 3 days a week. I'm okay now.

Working on my action figures adventure story. Waaaay more work than I realized it was going to be. Holy crap. I hope that people like it when I'm done and it doesn't suck. ::bites fingernails::

I'm sure it will be awesome! I look forward to seeing the action figure theatre. It's awesome already, especially the Kama Sutra portion. I'm sure any additions will only make it more amazing. Tee hee.

And that's funny... Waves Cafe is where we were just at last night. Hee hee. Ahh... *drools* I wish Beckett would look at me that way... *cries a little* Yeah, I'm watching Irresistable. Awwwwesoooome... ^__^

Is "Atlantis" about to sink?
Interesting. I noticed that (for the time being) it is confined to the Lower Mainland, and has not popped up elsewhere in the country.

I just hope it doesn't go "down the tubes" like some other businesses recently. I have been doing some reading of the news lately -- and there is a non-zero risk of double-digit unemployment or worse out of the current economic mess; a re-run of the Great Depression is now possible.

YOU IDIOTS -- why do I feel the Trojan Horse has just opened up and disclosed ranks of Greek troops in the middle of Troy? [It was the deregulation of banks and other businesses, first enacted after the Depression, that made this economic folly possible; we are now about to be painfully reminded that we haven't learned from History and are about to be condemned to REPEAT IT. AAAAARRRRGHHHHH!!!]

Re: Is "Atlantis" about to sink?
uhm. Okay. Not that I think that potential deregulation of the banks is unimportant, but it doesn't seem related to my kids, my coffee or my Action Figure theater - which were the topics of my post.

Don't get me wrong - real happenings in real life are certainly momentous and important, but perhaps your commentary may have been more appropriately made as a post in your personal live journal or on one of the political LJ comms?

Just sayin'.

Sorry about that ... I don't get so upset ordinarily.

Just a point of clarification: it was the regulation of banks and other businesses after the Depression, which was intended to *prevent* a repeat, that was abolished by "deregulation" back in the Nineties. We are now about to find out why those regulations were enacted *in*the*first*place*, the hard way. [Headdesk]

For more information, you might want to read the following LJ article. It may be somewhat specific to Americans, but we Canucks will still get the fallout.

I still don't see how this has anything to do with Shaddyr's LJ post. Is it because the topic of the article had the world "Atlantis" in it? If so, wrong Atlantis...
