I'm a little twitterpaited...

Okay. So, how many of you people are on Twitter? It's a sad, sad commentary on my life while I do NOT own a cell phone (yet - I'm still holding out) I find myself growing addicted to these 140 character sized bit posts.

I can't really check LJ at work. Too much to read and the stolen moments I have, and too many times it's NSFW. But Twitter... I can open a Twitter in a browser then resize the window to a small bar at the bottom and just open it every once in a while to see if there has been a post. 140 characters worth of post, that's all. Digestible, easily fit between other tasks, easy to drop and come back to.

Comments are so easy to make. Momentary thoughts or observations - just drop them in, without having to think or a post, and formatting and tags and icons and moods - just 140 characters of stream of consciousness (or unconsciousness as the case may be sometime).

So. I adore my LJ and undomesticated equines would be unable to separate me from it... but Twitter. I'm catchin' the buzz.

Do you?

No. One of these activities is enough.; I have a Facebook account and I find the design a little daffy (don't know what 'old' Facebook is like). These things are turning us into Grups, because Grups talk to each other with these little boxes,; if we didn't have these little boxes, we'd be a-a-all alone...

I have a twitter account, but I never post. Mostly I have it so I can check to see if Hewlett has tweeted. :-)

I'm on Twitter as spikewriter -- I like the 140 character limit, though I'm resisting the urge to twit it to my LJ. Part of me it thinking about it, but maybe under a locked, private post so I have a record.

But it's so easy just to glance at the list every so often and see what's going on, maybe type a reply and move on.

While I'm on LJ and Facebook, I'm not on Twitter ... yet.

I do enjoy reading your tweets, as well as those of friends such as figmo and pondside.

Part of the problem is that I too do not have a cell phone. IMNSHO, the rates charged for cell phone access in Canada are exorbitant and absurd. [When I told an American friend about the price Rogers is demanding for an iPhone, his response was "Three year contract -- OMG!" Evidently, competition is good enough in the US that such absurdities are Not Tolerated and would kill a business.]

The more important part is that I find LJ and [much less often] Facebook to consume enough of my time *already*. As I quoted someone else in a comment to one of figmo's posts, what I do online is addictive *enough* -- this would be even worse.

Besides, I sometimes wonder if the last "tweetlet" I'll get from one or more of you will be [no apologies whatsoever to Warner Brothers]: "I thot I taw a puddy tat!" :-)

I don't know if you have companies like Net10 or Cricket communications in your region yet, but seriously - no contracts required and either pay as you go, or pay monthly for Cricket.

My work phone is my cell, so I need one to be reachable at all times.

I just don't twitter from my phone - no web browsing for me on there. :)

I hate to say it, but neither Net10 nor Cricket operate in Canada. [I'm not even sure they are available in Hawaii, though they seem to cover parts of Alaska.]

I'm on twitter (same user name) but I don't post there (too hard to keep up with it and LJ).

I'm wfsarah on Twitter. I'm honing the fine art of the 140 character comment while still maintaining correct spelling and punctuation--it's an art form! :D
