IT FAIL

You know what's fun? Calling the IT Help Desk when something isn't working, explaining the exact nature of the error, asking an intelligent question about what you think the answer might be, and having them pull a dear-in-headlights; "Uhm... I don't know. I'll have to get back to you."

It's not ROCKET SCIENCE! I either download a new version of Java or not. I would think not, since hello, I have the latest version.

Then, to get a message back telling me to access the latest version of Java on a server in another state that I don't have access to because I'm working in a Citrix environment you moron! Did you not get the part where I said I'm in Vancouver? HELLO??

Yeah, by FUN I meant a huge pain in my ass.

Dear Citirx,

I know you have a lot to offer in terms of security and ease of access, but this relationship leaves me unsatisfied. Quite frankly, you suck as a partner and I hate you. But we'll stay together for the sake of the programs you allow me to have access to.

BTW, I still love my job. But what's work without a little bitching and moaning? It's too good to be true, that's what it is!

ETA: IT guy just emailed me back with a response to *my* response that basically said "Whoops, missed that, I'm an idiot, you're right..." so I feel rather vindicated. Also, am giggling. Hee!

I liked your 'ETA'. lol. It's good he agreed he was an idiot for not reading your question correctly in the first place.
