SO, yesterday's word count sucked liked a Hoover. My daughter was asking me at 11:15PM "Have you done your 10 minutes yet, you MiFu?" and I was snarling and snapping at her heels as she ran up the stairs, laughing at me.

I managed to squeeze out 240 words. I got it done just under the wire.

Sometimze? W0rdz h8 me, yo.

Today's mod du jour over at wrisomifu asked the following;

What words do you love? Are there words you love so much that you overuse them? Or words that you constantly see overused that drive you crazy? How about words you hate?

Well, I love words. It's hard for me to choose. I have an unabridged English dictionary on my shelf that roommie got me for Christmas several years ago. Best. Prezzie. EVAR OMG. \0/ It is seriously one of my most prized possessions.

Upon reflection, I think some of my favourite words are when plain old regular words that are used in unusual settings. It's kinda like having a really unique ring with a plain Jane stone; the setting can make even a common stone look dramatic and daring.

example: "Her fingers described lazy circles on the skin of his back."

Fingers don't talk, but I love the image of them describing loops and whorls and swoops to the skin of the lover's back.

And today's word count?

2659 words! Mwahahaah!

ETA: I have decided to track myself against the NaNoWriMo goal of 50,000 words. I do not actually expect to make that. However, it is something to shoot toward.

3415 / 50000 (6.83%)

Ahahahaha! 50,000 words? I'll be lucky if I write 5,000 words during the whole damned month!

Also? And today's word count?

2659 words! Mwahahaah!

I hate you.

I'm rather fond of "unsymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine." OK, so it's three words. But I love the way they roll off the tongue.

I too feel much the same way about words. I may not prize dictionaries as much, but used to have over forty boxes of books. :-) My current favorite word probably would be 'acetylsalicylic acid', better known as "aspirin." It is effective for me, but I understand that its rivals 'acetaminophen' and 'ibuprofen' are more effective for other people. :-)

I also like inventing words at times ... to the point that I have contributed entries to the Wiktionary List of 'Protologisms' (now split over two pages, I didn't think it was *that* awkward).

In particular, I would like to mention entries 'tyrannist', 'tyrannism', YANTY and YARL (which I contributed) on the following webpage. :-)
