Stressssssssssss

So, something went *bloowie* at work, and I was in the middle of it.

It's not really my fault, except that it is.

It's one of those things where I didn't have enough information to do what I needed to do, but I didn't ask enough questions to get what I needed, because I didn't even really realize how I was falling short, because I didn't really understand that there was a problem with what I was doing.

::headdesk::

The bottom line, however is that I am still responsible for the fact that the information isn't accurate. And I should have realized that there was a problem.

This really sucks, cuz I want to flail and rant and tell my boss that it's not my fault, he didn't tell me what the information he was giving me wasn't complete! BUT... I didn't make absolutely sure. As the contractor, the consultant, the person shaking the data to see what falls out, I'm the one who needs to be thinking outside the box and considering all the possible angles and pieces that might affect my reports.

I am very, very stressed out right now. I've been working till laaaate all week, and I foresee spending the majority of my weekend working on this.

*sigh*

You are going to get through this and you are going to learn from the experience and be even awesomer (if that's possible, which is debatable) on the other side of things.

Ouch! There's nothing I can say to make that one better--been there and know how it feels--even to the extent that you want to make this not your fault but it IS your responsibility. Hope you can salvage some of the weekend and solve the problem at the same time.

If you leave a quirky prompt I'll try to give you a sanity break (either meaning) over the weekend.

Hang in there kiddo
Be glad you can at least tell when things screw up and then take responsibility. So many people cannot do either.

Remember you are only human. Remember that those that give you information are only human too. Work to the best of your ability and know you are loved.

Ouch. Sorry to hear, but mistakes DO happen. It's part of what keeps us "merely" human.

Think of it as YALE (Yet Another Learning Experience). For one thing, it should help you avoid similar bloopers in the future. :-)

Good thoughts and virtual *hugs* your way ...
