Adventures in Eastern Washington

It feels like I haven't had a chance to relax since I got back from Spokane! It's only been a week, but MAN, I miss trystel and moosaic4 so much. We have GOT to do that again, sooner than later!

moosaic4 picked me up at the bus station in Seattle, where she had been waiting for almost an hour - we got stuck at the border behind 4 other buses going the same direction. And there there were two guys who had to go through the special line and held us up a little longer. Anyway, it was about 7:30 PM by the time we finally rolled into Spokane.

trystel had zipped out to Costco to pick up a pizza and some snacks. Shyeah. JUST A FEW SNACKS!

We were well stocked for the whole weekend! I think she bought the whole store!

We always get crafty and do beading when we get together. I brought the few things that I have - which basically fit in one small case and a bag - but mostly, I used trystel's stuff. She brought so many shiny things! And they were all SO PRETTY! And calling my name! And she kept saying, "PLEASE USE MY STUFF AND MAKE PRETTY THINGS!" and who am I to argue?

Dude, it was like beaders Christmas!

We talked and laughed and talked and drank and talked and ate and talked and walked and talked and ate and drank and, oh yeah, there was sleeping in there somewhere.

But mostly talking. And drinking. And eating.

We decided it was all the best parts of being at a con (hanging out with cool people you love to see, doing things you love to do, having a blast) without the parts about a con that suck (trying to choose which programming you have to miss, feeling guilty about skipping some events in favour of others, never having enough time to spend with all the people you want to see)

trystel was encouraging moosaic4 and me to go to Consonance. I really enjoyed going with pondside the one time I went, and I got to meet a lot of really cool filkers that I only knew as names before (and had a few fangirl moments while I did) but I think it's just too pricey for me right now. I can do Conflikt - it's closer and far more accessible to me.

It really was!

I tell you, as much as we are living in the future (YAY INTERNETS!) it's still not far enough in the future.

I need a transporter, dammit! It would be so nice to be able to do that every second weekend...

You need to come to St. Louis to Archon one year when we're not bumping schedules. :)

I think you'd like it and I'd love to introduce you to Gary, a fellow filker & IT Guru. I used to work with him many moons ago at Paylinx.

Ah, if only that would work out. I would really like to do that one day.
