I'm sitting at the Greenville/Spartanburg airport, grateful that they are forward thinking folks who provide free Wifi. I had a chance to say goodbye to spikespet7, goddess47 and wyndewalker over a quick breaky before neevebrody and melagan dropped me off at the airport with hugs, goodbyes and talk of next year.

Squee Weekend 3 (the first one that I have attended) was a wonderful, fun gathering of like minded fans who wanted to talk about their show, the characters, their fandom and the craft of writing as well as life, families, work and all the other things that you talk about when you want to get to know likeable people better. Of all the folks there, I'd only met sgamadison before at a Vancouver con. My roomie was the very sweet mezzo_cammin; I also got to meet seekergeek, hoktauri, zoemathemata and tangotabby. Hmmm - did I leave anyone out? If I did, I blame it on sleep deprivation. Everyone there was quite memorable. :)

What I found really cool was how over and over, I was reminded of the lovely folks I had a privilege of working with during the writercon days - that community of fandom, the support and caring that started as a mutual affection for a TV show and grew into friendships that transcended their fannish beginnings.

Okay, enough of that, it's getting maudlin and sappy.

There were many fun things that happened, and much laughter poured out of Neeve and Mel's room at all hours of the day. I'm sure the neighbours were more than a little curious about what was going on in there. I wish all my SGA friends could have been there; you would have had a blast.

If there is any earthly way possible for me to make it out again next year, I'm going to go again.

During all the Squee, there were many things overheard. I starting keeping a list, because they were just too awesome not to share. I missed more comments than actually made it on to the list, but this generally reflects the overall tone of the weekend. THIS LIST IS NOT WORK SAFE.

Overheard at Squee weekend
- Kripkie has the emotional maturity of a tater tot.
- And the lemon chicken had babies and they all came out with aerodynamically sound hair.
- On 50 shades of Grey: It's like women have been in a desert - and someone hands them a cup of piss and they're supposed to be grateful!
- Where's the porn? She promised me porn!
- I need brain bleach!
- She could be in Walmart at this exact moment, thinking about cock!
- The first time I ever ran into a guy with a dildo up his ass, I had to explain he couldn't use his wife's vibrator, he had to use a dildo with a base. He said, "They make those?
- It's innocent!
- On fans asking questions at a creation con: Slash is like fight club - the first rule of fight club is you don't talk about fight club!
- On laughter and wondering what was missed: Don't worry, it wasn't porn - you didn't miss anything.
- After a discussion about sex scenes: So, the take away about Blow Job Friday is to go deeper and get into the head space.
- On Tyler Hoechlin : If God could make one, why couldn't he make enough for everyone? My mom always taught me if you bring treats, you need to bring enough for everyone!
- On Sheppard's elf ears: they're not ears, they're handles!
- There' s just something about the vibration...
- How do your like your meat?
- Tell her she needs to come! (beat) TO THE CON!
- Fan girl down! Send fic! No, send PORN!

There were many more that I missed, but you get the idea.

Those last 4 lines were awesome. I can't stop smiling & giggling.

Sometimes I even surprise myself... a few days ago I was telling a friend who knows shares my current obsession on things Korean.

I can't believe I actually said this but...

"Korean beef is awesome. Topped only by Korean Beefcake!"

My friend is from Peru & thought I meant meatloaf...

No, I said... "Beefcake... you know, handsome guys?"

"Oh!"

See Rain (Bi) for example of Korean beefcake:
